Body Composition scan

a healthy balance of muscle & fat

A body composition scan gives insight into a person's overall health and fitness by focusing on the balance between fat and muscle. There are multiple methods used for body composition scans. At our Scottsdale, Arizona facility, we use a 2D state of the art Hologic Dimensions Body Composition machine that is the gold standard on the market.

This body composition scan provides you with:

  • body fat percentage
  • total lean mass
  • visceral fat assessment
  • limb comparison for muscle imbalance detection.

This information is critical for accurately assessing the state of a patient's health and defining successful training programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Body fat percentage and BMI are different measurements to indicate a person's body composition. Body fat percentage is an accurate calculation while BMI (Body Mass Index) is a formula that gives an overall picture. Using both measurements together can give an idea of the health and fitness of a person.

Our 2D state of the art Hologic Dimensions Body Composition machine is the gold standard on the market and is over 99% accurate.

The body composition scan itself takes 6 minutes to complete. As the high-grade scanner gently moves over you, your full body picture begins to appear on the screen. Within minutes you have a full, easy to read analysis.
